Press conference of the families of the victims due to the mismanagement of the railway authorities

Kurigram Correspondent: A press conference has been held to protest against the allotment of the abandoned land of the old railway station in Kurigram city, blocking the road of the neighbors, framing them with false cases and stopping the harassment with muscle power. The victim Rashed Hasan Roni read out a written statement at the press conference at the Syed Shamsul Haque Auditorium of the Kurigram Press Club on Monday afternoon. His family members were present at the time. Victim Rashed Hasan Roni said that Abdul Gani, a civil servant of Nageshri Upazila administration, took lease of 6th century agricultural land located at Kurigram old railway station under the identity of landless. He then blocked the neighbor's driveway. Later he built a half-baked house on the agricultural land and stayed there with his family. But there is a multi-storied building on its own purchased 16th century land in Munsipara of the city. which he is renting. Arriving at the railway station, he abused his power and started killing railway trees on January 16 this year. When 333 was called to protect national resources, the railway authorities seized the cut trees with the help of the local administration, but did not arrest the accused Abdul Ghani or take any legal action against him. Enraged by this, Abdul Ghani attacked my house on January 7 with local terrorists and drug addicts. Later, when 999 was called, the police came and protected our family. A GD was filed in Kurigram Sadar Police Station on that day. GD No-825. When the matters were brought to the notice of the Lalmonirhat railway authorities, Abdul Gani filed a permanent injunction case in the court of the learned senior judge of Kurigram to evict my family from the land. Although the case was dismissed this month, the Lalmonirhat railway authorities did not stand by the victim's family. Abdul Ghani has become reckless in issuing agricultural licenses outside the rules, through misappropriation and corruption of Lalmonirhat railway officials despite committing multiple crimes and irregularities. They are trying to grab the land of our father and grandfather by blocking the way to enter our house. In the press conference, an urgent request was made to the Honorable Prime Minister to cancel the agricultural land license allotted to the victim Rashed Hasan Roni government employee Abdul Ghani and allocate the land in the name of the victim's family.
