Professional boxing competition 'Rumble in Gulistan' begins

Sports Desk: On May 19, international professional boxing was organized for the first time on the country's soil. Two Bangladeshi boxers Al Ami and Surkrishna became champions after defeating Nepal in the competition organized jointly by Bangladesh Boxing Foundation and Excel at Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium. This time, the previous two organizers are going to organize a professional boxing competition with only locals. This year's competition is named 'Rumble in Gulistan'. This pro-boxing competition will be held at Muhammad Ali Boxing Stadium on July 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm. 10 boxers of the country will participate in 5 fights. Bangladesh Boxing Foundation President Adnan Haroon said, "We organized an international fight a few days ago. This time we are doing it only with natives on a small scale. There will be a participation fee for all those who participate. And there will be a prize for the winners of 5 bouts. However, the president of Bangladesh Boxing Foundation did not mention the amount of honorarium that will be given to the participants and winners, "We will give such an honor which is honorable for the participants." In the competition, Aminul Islam and Babul Reza will fight in featherweight, Abu Talha Hriday and Sabbir Islam will fight in super bantamweight, and Md. will fight in super flyweight. Utsab Ahmed and Abu Bakr Siddique, Al Amin and Muntaha Ul Haq will fight in welterweight and Zahidul Islam and Arif Hossain will fight in light heavyweight. Bangladesh Boxing Foundation wants to organize a few more small events this year. However, they have plans to organize international pro-boxing on a large scale next year. "Next year we want to jointly organize an international pro-boxing with UK" - said the president of Bangladesh Boxing Foundation.
