News Desk: The visiting Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed. At this time, apart from mutual exchange of skills, they discussed the existing good relations between the armies of the two countries and various issues of cooperation in future progress. The courtesy meeting was held at the army headquarters on Monday (July 18). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed this information in a press release. During the meeting, the Indian Army Chief thanked the Bangladesh Army Chief for inviting him. At the beginning of the meeting, General Manoj Pandey said that his respect for this country and the basis of the existing historical and professional relationship between the two armies was clearly revealed by coming to Bangladesh as the destination of his first foreign visit after taking charge as the Chief of the Indian Army. After that, a special briefing was organized for the delegation in the helmet conference room of the headquarters. Informed about Bangladesh Army's combat readiness, improved training system, role in world peace and overall administrative structure, he praised the current leadership and overall high standards of the army. Before arriving at the headquarters, General Manoj Pandey paid tribute to the martyrs of Bangladesh's liberation war by placing wreaths at Shikha Anirban. He was later given a guard of honor by a smart army contingent at Senakunj and planted a tree sapling there. Later, General Manoj Pandey, Prime Minister's Security Adviser, Major General (Retd.) Tariq Ahmed Siddique, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Navy and Air Force Chiefs. In the afternoon the delegation visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and toured the museum.
