Workshop held in Hatibandha to formulate integrated action plan to curb drug abuse

Mostafizur Rahman, Lalmonirhat: A workshop has been held in Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonir Hat to formulate an integrated action plan to build a social movement to prevent drug abuse. The workshop was organized by Hatibandha Upazila Administration in the hall of the Upazila Parishad on Tuesday morning with the initiative of the Security Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs and in collaboration with the Lalmonirhat District Narcotics Control Department. Hatibandha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Nazir Hossain presided over the function Heroic freedom fighter Motahar Hossain MP, special guest Deputy Commissioner Abu Jafar, Superintendent of Police Abida Sultana, Acting Commander of 71 BGB Teesta Battalion Major Ahmed Nuruddin Khan, Additional Director of Narcotics Control Department Rangpur Division Md. Ali Aslam Hossain were present as chief guests. Chairman of Upazila Parishad Mashiur Rahman Mamun, President of Upazila Awami League Md. Liaquat Hossain Bachchu were present. Additional Superintendent of Police B Circle Taposh Sarkar, Assistant Director of Lalmonirhat District Narcotics Control Department Khairul Bashar, Hatibandha Police Station OC Ershadul Alam, Highway Police Station OC Abdul Hakim Azad, UP Chairman Manowar Hossain Dulu and others spoke on the occasion. The workshop discusses the pros and cons of drugs and the spread and prevention of drug smuggling.
