Sports Desk: Bangladesh made it to the XI with three spinners and two pacers in the first rain-hit T20. However, seeing the wicket well in the second match, the Tigers named left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed and replaced right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed in the starting XI.

The visitors did not succeed in this plan to increase the pacer and sort the XI. The West Indies batted first at Dominica's Windsor Park and scored 193 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Three fast bowlers Mostafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shariful Islam spent 123 runs in 11 overs.

Sheikh Mehdi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan scored 60 runs from 6 overs. The rest of the fast bowlers were given an over by part-time spinner Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. Mosaddeq dismissed Caribbean captain Nicolas Puran in the 13th over of the innings and picked up the maiden over.

However, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad did not bowl the second over with Mosaddeq. West Indies picked up 93 runs in the last seven overs. Among them were Shakib's 23-run over and Taskin's 21-run over. However, Mosaddeq did not get more than one over.

Mahmudullah explained it at the end of the match. His argument was that since the wicket was then two right-handed batsmen Rovman Powell and Brandon King. So he did not bring right-handed offspinner Mosaddeq. Similarly, left-arm spinner Shakib was not bowled as the left-arm batsman was on the old wicket.

At the press conference, Mahmudullah said, "I would have bowled Mosaddeq. But Rowman Powell was batting then. Since both are right-handed batsmen, the boundary on that side was also a little shorter. So that's why I'm not at risk anymore. I brought Taskin to bowl at that time.

He added, ‘Shakib was bowling from that side. You will see, I brought Shakib to bowl a little later. Since the old (left-handed) was batting. But I think Rowman Powell has done a great job batting. He snatched the match from us. '
