BCL leader killed in Cox's Bazar

Jabed Iqbal, Cox's Bazar: BCL leader Faisal Uddin (26) was hacked to death in Khurushkul Union of Cox's Bazar Sadar. The incident took place in Delpara area of ​​Khurushkul around 6:30 pm on Sunday. Faisal Uddin was the former joint general secretary of Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila Chhatra League. He is said to be the son of Lal Mohammad of Kawarpara area of ​​the union. Former chairman of Khurushkul Union and Awami League leader Jasim Uddin said, "In the afternoon, there was a conference of Awami League in wards 1 and 2 of Khurushkul Union. Tensions were running high outside the conference for half of the conference. A group led by local Aziz Sikder came to attack Faisal over a murder case. Faisal was rescued and brought from there. Later, at the end of the conference, everyone was returning in the evening. At that time, a group of miscreants led by Aziz Sikder and Zaheer of Dailpara again hacked and shot Faisal Uddin at random and fled. He was rescued by locals and taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr Ashikur Rahman said he died before being brought to the hospital. He also said that two more injured people are being treated. Officer-in-charge of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Sheikh Munir Ul Gias said police had launched an operation to arrest those involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the Cox's Bazar district Chhatra League has staged a protest procession in protest of the killing. The procession gathered at a protest rally at around 8.30 pm after circling the main road of Cox's Bazar. Meanwhile, district BCL general secretary Maruf Adnan demanded that the culprits be brought to justice.
