But even during the Corona epidemic, Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex was in crisis. The people of Lalmonirhat-2 Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed MP's own upazila are being deprived of much-needed services in Nathaka. About three lakh people of the upazila. The health complex in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district has 50 beds. The hospital was supposed to have 29 doctors as per the demand but only 13 are working at present. The health complex does not have cell counter machines, nebulizers or even X-ray machines that have been out of order for almost 16 years. According to the Health Complex authorities, the patients are getting more services than before due to the addition of new buildings and some equipments, but the people here have to go to Lalmonirhat district town or Rangpur for a caesarean section without all the necessary equipment. Authorities sent letters of demand to 29 doctors to increase the quality of service, but no one has joined yet. Kaliganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Debabrata Kumar Roy Ajay said, ‘We are struggling. The situation has worsened due to the increase in the number of patients suffering from covid. "We are repeatedly demanding higher authorities than doctors," he added. They are just reassuring. In such a situation a patient has to be sent to Lalmonirhat or Rangpur for better treatment. The locals sought the attention of the Social Welfare Minister in this regard.
