Jabed Iqbal, Cox's Bazar: RAB-15 members arrested three top robbers, including Abu Hurairah, the head of the Hurairah robber group, in a raid in the Marine Drive area of Teknaf Shaplapur. At that time 6 weapons were recovered from them. They were arrested around 1am on Thursday (June 30). They are Abu Hurairah Mohammad, 26, son of Maulvi Moksudur Rahman of North Shilkhali area of Teknaf Baharchhara Union, Morshed Alam, 21, son of late Nurul Kabir of the same area and Nurul Islam, 38, son of Haider Ali of Jhumpara. According to RAB, RAB is stepping up its intelligence activities to arrest the robber Abu Hurairah and his accomplices. At one stage of special surveillance, the RAB expedition team arrested them from different areas of Teknaf on the basis of secret information. Later, on the basis of the information provided by them, around 8:30 pm, six firearms used for robbery were recovered from the underground plow inside the Zhaubagan area of Hajampara area of Baharchhara Union in Teknaf. Incidentally, on June 8, a robbery took place at a wedding house in North Shilkhali area of Teknaf Baharchhara Union. At that time, the robbers robbed several items including gold ornaments, cash and some smartphones. Also on June 17, a group of bandits set up barricades at the Shaplapur slope on the Huaikeng-Shaplapur road in Teknaf, stopped various vehicles and looted cash, gold ornaments, mobiles and other goods. These two heinous robberies caused fear in Teknaf. A case was filed against the unidentified persons at Teknaf police station. Also on June 20-21, members of RAB-15 conducted a 15-hour suffocation operation on Md. Shakil (20), Md. Aman Ullah (24), Md. Arafat (28), Md. Shakib Hasan (24), Md. Nurul Amin (25) and Md. Ayesha Prakash Aziz (22) was arrested. During interrogation, they each confessed to being involved in the two robberies and Morshed and Nurul Islam as his right hand man, including Abu Hurairah, the ringleader of the robbery ring. They have been handed over to the concerned police station for taking further legal action against them.
