News Desk: The BNP is holding a dialogue with the political parties with the aim of strengthening the anti-government movement ahead of the next elections. As part of that, the BNP delegation held a meeting with Jamiat Ulamaye Islam at the BNP chairperson's office in Gulshan on Saturday (June 18) evening.

After the meeting, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "Today we have a meeting with the leaders of Jamiat Ulamaye Islam, one of the partners of the 20-party alliance." An unelected government that oppresses the people of our country. By destroying the goals, hopes and aspirations of our liberation war, by destroying the economic misery of the people, by destroying the economy. By destroying the education and health system, the administration is partying the judiciary, turning the state into a failed state. By uniting all political parties, individuals and organizations against them, we have agreed to fight against this misrule by talking to the leaders of Jamiat Ulama Islam.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "We have agreed to force this government to resign." The government will resign and hand over power to a non-partisan, neutral government. With that the parliament has to be dissolved. There will then be an election with the participation of all parties under them by forming a new election commission under a non-partisan neutral government. With that election a new parliament will be formed. A government will be formed on the basis of the views of all parties through that parliament. On these issues, we have agreed that with regard to the movement, everyone will start the movement simultaneously from their respective places and will work with the people to make the movement a success at a certain stage i.e. by resigning this government.

Maulana Mansurul Hasan Raipuri, president of Jamiat-e-Ulamaye Islam, said, "People of the country are not happy today. People are crying in the streets because of hunger." Even during the floods, the government's aid is not going enough. Apart from that, the main thing in this country is that this government has killed democracy. This government can no longer be allowed to survive. This government must be removed immediately. We need sacrifice, we need movement to remove that. That is why we have agreed to do whatever is needed.

BNP standing committee member and coordinator of 20-party alliance Nazrul Islam Khan, secretary general of Jamiat Ulamaye Islam Maulana Golam Mohiuddin Ikram, executive vice-president Maulana Abdur Rahim Islamabadi, senior vice-president Shaikhul Hadis Allama Sheikh Mojibur Rahman and vice-president Maulana were present at the occasion. Shahidul Islam Ansari, Jamal Naser Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General Maulana Abdul Malik Chowdhury, Maulana Abdul Haq Kawsari, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rashid Bin Waqqas, Organizing Secretary Mufti Zakir Hossain Khan.
