Distribution of relief items among flood-affected families in Gopalpur

Nur Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): Relief materials were distributed among 500 flood-affected families in Gopalpur. Upazila Parishad Chairman Younus Islam Talukder distributed the relief items at his own expense in the Sonamui area adjacent to the river Jamuna in Jhawil Union of the upazila on Friday morning. Relief items included rice, pulses, salt, potatoes and chira. Upazila Parishad Chairman Younus Islam Talukder said he would distribute relief items among 2,000 families in the flood-hit areas of Gopalpur and Bhunapur upazilas on his own funds on the instructions of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the first phase of its continuation, today it distributed relief materials among more than 500 flood-affected families. Relief materials will be distributed among the flood-affected families in the two upazilas in phases. Present during the distribution of relief materials, acting president of Zhawail Union Awami League. Local Awami League leaders and activists including Shahjahan Ali, Sonamui Ward Awami League President Abdul Basheed, Nalin Bazar Banik Samiti President Samesh Khan, Awami League leader Lebu Mia, Juba League leader Selim Hossain and others.
