Rath Yatra festival to be celebrated in tight security zone: Bogra Police Super

Sanju Roy, Bogra: Bogra District Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty BPM has said that the upcoming Jagannath Deb Rath Yatra, one of the festivals of the followers of traditional religions, will be celebrated in Bogra with the united participation of all. There will be a strict security zone for the Bogra district police. He said that as thousands of people gather at the Rath Yatra festival, he asked the police as well as the puja celebration council leaders to provide adequate volunteers to keep the crowd in order. He made the remarks while addressing an exchange of views with the leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Bogra District and Municipal Committee at the meeting room of Bogra Police Super Office on Thursday afternoon ahead of Sri Jagannath Deb's rath yatra on July 1. During the meeting, the Superintendent of Police further said that there will be strict security cordons in all upazilas including Bogra Sadar on behalf of the district police around the Rath Yatra on July 1. In Bogra, a multi-level security plan has been taken for clothing and white clothing around this event. Not only that, intelligence surveillance will be strengthened from beginning to end to get everything done smoothly. Executive members of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Central Committee Dilip Kumar Dev, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Bogra District Branch President Sagar Kumar Roy and General Secretary Nirmal Roy, Bogra Municipal Committee President Parimal Prasad Raj, Police Lines Shiv Mandir spoke on the occasion. Committee President Anand Mohan Pal, ISKCON Bogra Principal Kharajita Krishna Das, Puja Udjapan Parishad Bogra District Committee Joint Publicity Secretary and Joint General Secretary of the Municipal Branch Sanju Roy and Gautam Dutta, Co-Organizing Secretary of the District Branch of the organization. At the meeting, the procession left the ISKCON temple unanimously, crossed Dattabari via Satmatha and reached Kalitala stand, and from there it will end again at Dattabari, Thanamor, Satmatha and end at Police Lines Shiv Mandir. The procession will also end at the Dattabari Devseba Trustee Temple, which is a regular exit from the premises of the city's traditional North Chelopara Nab-Vrindavan Haribasar. It was decided that there would be enough police to control the traffic on the way. The meeting also called for informing the law enforcement agencies if any strangers or suspects were spotted during the procession. Additional Superintendent of Police Motahar Hossain (DSB), Sharafat Islam (Sadar Circle) and Helena Akter (Sadar), Bogra Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Selim Reza, Traffic Inspector Shafiul Islam, District Special Branch spoke on the occasion. Inspector Moslem Uddin, Inspector Saikat Hasan in-charge of Kaigari Police Outpost, Haridas Mandal in-charge of Stadium Police Outpost and Tariqul Islam in-charge of Banani Police Outpost.
