Last farewell to Mohiuddin Ahmed

News Desk: Former Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohiuddin Ahmed was bade farewell by his former colleagues, friends and relatives after Janaza at Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy. His second janaza was held at the Foreign Service Academy, his favorite place of work, on Tuesday (June 21) after the first janaza at Sector 6, Jami Masjid, Uttara. After Janaza, Mohiuddin Ahmed's body is being taken to his village home in Feni. He will be buried in the family graveyard after Janazah after Asr. On Monday (June 20) evening, Mohiuddin, a diplomat who had fought for Bangladesh's independence in exile, died at his home in Shiulitla, Uttara, Dhaka. He was 80 years old. According to family sources, Mohiuddin Ahmed was suffering from liver cirrhosis, kidney complications and diabetes. He was taken home four days ago after receiving treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for three weeks. Mohiuddin Ahmed was born on 19 June 1942. He passed the Pakistan Civil Service Examination and joined the Foreign Office in 1966. Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohiuddin was working at the then Pakistan High Commission in London during the turbulent days of 1971. On August 1, at a rally in Trafalgar Square in support of the war of liberation, he announced his resignation from Pakistan. He was the first of the Bengali diplomats working in European countries to leave Pakistan and join the formation of public opinion in favor of Bangladesh's independence.
