Extortionist arrested in Ashulia

Savar Correspondent: Police have arrested a fake RAB member named Rabiul Islam (38) while extorting money in Ashulia of Savar. He was wearing a RAB polo shirt. He was arrested at around 11:30 am on Sunday at the Bypil bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha highway while extorting money from various transports. The detainee was identified as Rabiul Islam, son of Mohammad Ali of Singarul village under Pirganj police station in Rangpur district. He has been involved in these misdeeds since he was fired from the army. According to eyewitnesses, the man got in and out of various vehicles on the road in the morning. At some point he instructed different vehicles to leave. When he saw any suspicion, the traffic police brought him in a traffic box and interrogated him. At that time, he could not give a good answer to the question of where he was working, seeing him wearing a RAB polo shirt. It was later found out that he had been fired from the army. No member of RAB. After informing the police, the police came to the spot and arrested him. In this regard, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Ashulia Police Station Delwar Hossain said that Rabiul was arrested during extortion under the false identity of RAB. An extortion case will be filed against him and sent to court.
