Steps to launch Portuguese consular service in Bangladesh soon: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam

Anwar H Khan Fahim, Lisbon, Portugal: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam arrived in Portugal on a state visit.  On this occasion, an exchange meeting was organized in Lisbon on the initiative of Portugal Awami League.  The event was held on the evening of May 27 at the "City Wok" restaurant in Lisbon.


The meeting was chaired by Zahirul Alam Jasim, President of Portugal Awami League and chaired by Delwar Hossain, Acting General Secretary.

The Chief Guest State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam assured to take necessary steps on behalf of the expatriates to solve some of the problems which came up in the speeches of the present speakers.  He also assured to take appropriate action with special emphasis on stopping harassment of expatriates at Bangladesh airport and speedy launch of consular services in Bangladesh.
Speakers at the meeting included Mahbub Alam, Advisor to Portugal A'League, Mohsin Habib Bhuiyan, Mizanur Rahman Mollah, Organizing Secretary Jamal Fakir, Office Secretary Zakir Hossain, A'League Leader Jamal Uddin, Juba League Leader Anupam Mehedi Anu, Khandaker Yunus Fahad, Chhatra League leader Abdullah Noman and others.

Leaders and activists of Portugal Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League, media workers and many expatriate Bangladeshis were present at the meeting and Honorable Ambassador of Bangladesh Tariq Ahsan, Second Secretaries Abdullah Al Razi and Alamgir Hossain were also present.
