News Desk: Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ensured equality of people of all religions in the country. Strongly convinced Sheikh Hasina is the spirit of the liberation war and the last refuge of non-communal Bangladesh. Everyone around him must be united. He was speaking as the chief guest at the 12th annual religious conference of the Bangladesh Sebashram Foundation at the Dhakeshwari National Temple premises in the capital on Friday (May 26) afternoon. Rezaul Karim said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had stopped religion-based politics in the country through Article 37 of the Constitution to maintain communal harmony in the independent country. After the assassination of Bangabandhu, an attempt was made to turn Bangladesh into a communal state again. The spirit of independence and liberation war was sacrificed. At that time, Ziaur Rahman changed Article 37 of the Constitution and gave the opportunity to religion based politics. Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina came to power and re-established the rights of all religions. The enemies of our freedom are not over yet. In order to stop their new generation, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians must work together to build a solid unity. During the tenure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Minister called upon the followers of traditional religions to establish their rights without thinking of themselves as a minority. He said state management is with them. Besides, unreasonable divisions cannot be created among people for religious reasons.
