3 killed in tourist ditch in Bandarban hills

BANDARBAN CORRESPONDENT: Three people were killed when a micro bus overturned on Bandarban and Thanchi roads in Jivan Nagar area. The incident took place at 10 am in Jeevan Nagar area. Local and BGB members rescued 6 more injured people from the spot. One of the victims was identified as Md. Mahidul Islam. The dead were BUET security personnel Manzur Alam, Hamidul Islam and Md. Joynal. The other injured were BUET security personnel Milon, Manzur, Rajib and driver Farooq. Injured tourist said. Wahid and Abdul Malek said, ‘I came to Bandarban from Dhaka in a hired car of a colleague. On the way to Thanchi, the vehicle lost control in Jivannagar area and fell into a ditch. There were nine of us in the car, including the driver. ' Confirming the incident, Thanchi Police Station ASI Satyabrata Chakma said that a tourist vehicle fell into a ditch and one died on the spot and two others died on the way to the hospital in critical condition. The condition of some of the injured is critical.
