Alleged attempt to rape housewife in Faridpur's Nagarkanda

Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: An attempt has been made to rape a housewife in Faridpur's Nagarkanda. The incident took place at Nikhonharhati village in Charyoshardi union of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon. The housewife has filed a case with the Nagarkanda police station. According to the complaint, on Tuesday afternoon, the housewife went to fetch grass for the goats in the jute field next to the house. Monir Mollah, son of neighbor Hashem Mollah, grabbed her and tried to rape her. Monir Mollah fled when the neighbors came forward at his shout. The housewife said, I go to the jute field next to the house to fetch grass for the goats. Suddenly Monir came and grabbed me and tried to rape me. Neighbors rescue me when I scream. On Wednesday, Nagarkanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Habil Hossain said that the victim himself had lodged the complaint. Monir is absconding after the incident. Operations are being carried out in different places to arrest the accused.
