3 arrested with two students

News Desk: Chases and clashes took place between Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal on the campus of Dhaka University (DU). Three people including two members of Chhatra Dal have been arrested in the incident. Shahbagh Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moudut Hawlader confirmed the matter on Tuesday (May 24) afternoon. OC Moudut Hawlader said, “Three people have been detained for questioning in connection with the clash at the DU campus. It has been confirmed that two of them are student activists, the other is probably an ordinary citizen. ” He said they were being interrogated at Shahbagh police station. The police official further said, "Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal have not received any complaint from either side in the incident of clash." He also said that no decision has been taken by the police to file a case. Speaking at a protest rally at the DU campus on Sunday (May 22nd), Chhatra Dal general secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel said, “The nationalist Chhatra Dal is not hot in the hot sun. Many people think that we are hot in this hot sun, but it is not. Sheikh Hasina has touched our hearts. He insulted our ideological mother. That's why we are hot. " After Saif's statement, Chhatra League attacked Chhatra Dal in TSC area that evening. A press conference was to be held at the office of the DU Journalists' Association at 10:30 am on Tuesday to protest the attack and explain Saif Mahmood's statement. On the way there, the BCL attacked the Chhatra Dal in front of the central Shaheed Minar at around 9.40 am.
