Sports Desk: Liton Das got a chance to score a century in the only innings of the first match of the series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. But many off-stumps went out to chase the ball and got out with 7 runs. The wicketkeeper-batsman did not take any time to meet the regret of missing the century.

In the first innings of the second Test of the series in Dhaka, Liton saw a magical three figures. After dropping 5 wickets for just 24 runs, he came to the wicket and reached the personal milestone by relieving the pressure on the team. Liton played 149 balls to complete his third career century, hitting 13 fours.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh had scored 236 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 60.4 overs. Mushfiqur is playing with 91 runs, Liton is unbeaten on 125, raising hopes for the ninth century of his career.

Bangladesh's first five batsmen returned to the dressing room in the seventh over of the innings with two Sri Lankan fast bowlers Kasun Rajitha and Asitha Fernando at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Mahmudul Hasan Joy made his way to the dressing room with the second ball of the innings. This is the fourth call to win in just five Tests.

Tamim Iqbal (0), Nazmul Hossain Shant (7), Muminul Haque (9) and Shakib Al Hasanra (0) did not take time to walk on the path shown by him. Bangladesh had a record of only 24 runs or five wickets in the seventh over. So this experience is not new at all for the Tigers.

However, the Lankans did not see any success from there. Liton-Mushfiqur spent the rest of the first session watching. The second session was no exception. The pair added 6 runs in 30 overs. Both of them picked up their fifty.

However, in the second session, Liton could have returned before reaching fifty. Asitha Fernando went to the pool and he floated in the sky. Kamindu Mendis could not hold his hand even though he ran back from short fine leg and reached near the ball. As a result, Liton got life for 48 runs.

This is the only time the Lankans have raised the possibility of dismissing Liton. Before and after this, Liton did not give any opportunity. To get him out, two pacers with a bunch of fielders on the side arranged short ball posara. Liton hit one boundary after another, evading all fielders. He has scored almost half of the pool shot.

This is Lytton's third century in his Test career. He did two this year. He played a 102-run innings against New Zealand in Christchurch last January. Earlier, Liton scored his first century against Pakistan in Chittagong last year.
