Bangladesh is giving crores of rupees to Afghanistan

News Desk: In view of the acute food and other crises in Afghanistan, Bangladesh has decided to provide one crore rupees in cash to the country. The government will fund the UNOCHA, the UN's humanitarian aid and co-ordinating body.

The foreign ministry released the information on Sunday (May 22).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken necessary steps to send the money on the basis of the approval and instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations, New York, on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh, will send a grant to the Special Fund for Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan through UNOCHA, and activities in this regard are currently underway. This money will be spent through the United Nations, UNOCHA for the distressed people of Afghanistan.

The Foreign Ministry said the grant was a practical reflection of the Prime Minister's policy of regional brotherhood, integrated development in South Asia and co-operation towards all.
