Benapole Correspondent: Six people including senior Hijra Sardar Dahlia and Sonia were injured in a clash between two groups of third sex at Sharsha and Benapole in Jessore. The clashes took place at Goga in Sharjah on Wednesday morning and at Bhabarber village in Benapole at noon. The injured are currently staying in Hijra Para for local treatment. Injured Hijra said that senior Hijra Dalia and Sonia were attacked when they suddenly came to Goga village last Wednesday morning. When the others came forward to rescue them, they were also attacked by Bobby, Apu, Abdullah, Bhabna, Chandni and about 25 others. Later they came to Benapole Bhabarber village and attacked us again. At this time he took the gold ornaments we had. They are trying to trap us by breaking their belongings. Neighbors say the elderly Hijra Nilu has been living in Bhabarber village since independence. He was beaten several times by the attackers with death threats. He was constantly tortured. We all saw it with our own eyes. We demand justice from the administration. In this regard, Benapole Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan said that a clash took place between two groups of third sex in Benapole Bhabarber area at noon. Upon learning about the incident, the police went to the spot and brought the environment under control. Both the parties have lodged two complaints in this regard. We will investigate the matter and take legal action.
