Four students of Bashemurbiprabi were expelled on charges of ragging

Mezba Rahman, Bashemurbiprabi: Four students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology (Bashemurbiprabi) have been suspended (1 semester) for ragging. The expelled students are all law students of the university. Another student has been fined in this incident. The expulsion order was announced in a circular signed by Mansura Khanam, president of the law department. A three-member committee was formed on April 18 to look into the matter after AHM Jannatul Ferdous (Rafi), a second-year student of the law department, lodged a complaint with the department and a complaint was lodged by the third year law department. After observing all the data and evidence, 4 students were expelled from all academic activities for 1 semester and 1 student was fined 3000 rupees as per the rules of the university with departmental reprimand. The expelled students are Muntasim Chowdhury, Sheikh Ishtiaq Hossain, Hasibul Hasan and AHM Jannatul Ferdous (Rafi). Besides, the student convicted of fine is Md. Mahmudul Hasan. Mansura Khanam, president of the law department, said the action was taken in accordance with the rules of the university in the light of a written complaint.
