Notification issued after finalizing the toll of Padma bridge

News Desk: The government has finalized the class and toll rate of vehicles for crossing the Padma Bridge. The notification was issued in the form of a gazette on Tuesday.

According to the toll rate, 100 rupees for motorbike, 850 rupees for car and jeep, 1,200 rupees for pickup, 1,300 rupees for microbus, 1,400 rupees for small bus (31 seats), 1,400 rupees for medium bus (32 seats or more). Two thousand rupees, big bus (three-axle) two thousand 400 rupees, small truck (up to five tons) one thousand 800 rupees, medium truck (more than 5 tons to 6 tons) two thousand 100 rupees, medium truck (more than 6 tons) 11 tons) Two thousand 800 rupees, truck (up to 3 axles) five 500 rupees, trailer (up to 4 axles) six thousand rupees, trailer (more than 4 axles) with six thousand rupees for each axle will be added.

The government has announced to open the Padma Bridge to traffic on June 23. The project officials said that work is going on day and night with the aim of opening the traffic on the bridge in June. They say the small work on the bridge will be completed by June.

The length of Padma bridge (main bridge) is 6.15 km. The two-way flyover (viaduct) is 3.6 km. In all, the length of the bridge is 9.63 kilometers. The cost of the Padma Bridge project has been estimated at Tk 30,193 crore.
