Welcome party members arrested in Faridpur

Police have arrested a member of the Welcome Party while he was cheating on a fake army officer in Faridpur's Nagarkanda. Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Suminur Rahman of Nagarkanda Circle confirmed the arrest. The detainee was identified as Deepak Kumar Das, 32, son of late Bholanath Das of East Algi village under Algi union of Bhanga upazila. He was arrested from Kortpar area of ​​the municipality around 1pm on Monday. Meanwhile, his accomplice Ashraf Sheikh, 35, son of Sekendar Sheikh of Baradia village in the same upazila, managed to escape. It is learned that Sumi Jahangir, an official of "Meghna Life Insurance Company", a resident of Chaumukha village in Nagarkanda municipality, had been cheating for a long time by the members of the fraud ring, first as the king of Zvin and later as an army officer. Due to this, Sumi Jahangir called the fraudsters to her office at around 11 am on Monday and kept them in check. After informing the police, another member of the fraudulent gang, Ashraf Sheikh, escaped with an unknown tactic. Police recovered a fake ID card and some sleeping pills from him. Faridpur's Nagarkanda Police Station OC Habil Hossain said he had been detained for preliminary questioning. Legal action will be taken after investigation.
