News Desk: Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will start selling products in the open market from next Monday (May 16). The chairman of the organization, Brigadier General. Ariful Hasan has confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the company Humayun Kabir said that although the date has been fixed, the quantity of products and their prices have not been fixed yet. It will be decided by meeting in two days.

The price of TCB's soybean oil will be strongly discussed at the meeting. This is because soybean oil prices have risen sharply since the start of TCB sales. Therefore, the Ministry of Commerce will decide whether the price of soybean will be adjusted with the market price or will be sold at the previous price of Tk 110 per liter.

For the 11th time this year, TCB has started selling products for low income people at affordable prices. The company has sold products every month of the current financial year. However, the sale of goods has been stopped since April 24 before Eid.

Last April, a consumer could buy a maximum of 2 kg of sugar at Rs 55 per kg, a maximum of 2 liters of soybean oil at Rs 110 and 2 to 5 kg of onion at Rs 30 per kg from a TCB truck. And lentil pulses 75 rupees per kg.

On the other hand, TCB had distributed affordable family card products to one crore listed families across the country in March and April, focusing on the month of Ramadan. Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh had said a few days ago that the government was planning to undertake another such program after next June.
