International Desk: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin visit Kiev in the wake of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war. They met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday (April 24th) local time. The two officials reiterated their support for Ukraine and promised more military assistance. Ukraine will receive another কোটি 600 million in military aid to continue the fight, as promised by top US officials.

It is learned that Ukraine will get half of the US aid and the rest will go to other regional allies including NATO members. This is the first visit by a senior US diplomat since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, some shipments of military aid from the United States have already arrived in Ukraine. According to Biden administration sources, the military assistance will include new weapons designed to counter Russia's expected "larger invasion" of eastern Ukraine.

However, Russia has warned the United States against providing military assistance to Ukraine. Russia's Putin government has warned that Ukraine will suffer "unforeseen consequences" if it does not stop providing arms.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 after a month-long standoff with the United States. Ukraine's security forces have been battling Russian forces for more than six weeks. Fighting between the two sides has caused many casualties in the country. According to the United Nations, about 5 million people have fled Ukraine.
