Annual conference of Alokvela and formation of new committee in Bashemurabiprabi

Bashemurbiprabi Correspondent: A new council has been formed at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology (Bashemurbiprabi) in Gopalganj.

The organization holds its annual conference on Thursday (April 14), which was attended by members of the organization's advisory council, electorate, and volunteers. At the conference, the organization's chief selector, associate professor. On behalf of Sharafat Ali, Deputy Chief Selector Shahadat Hossain Hridoy announced a new 9-member council formed in the indirect election process. A press release was issued on Saturday (April 18) after the transfer of responsibilities and all other formalities were completed.

Rukaiya Khatun Barna (Statistics Department) and Mahmuda Jannat (Food and Agricultural Processing Engineering Department) and Tanim Kazi Shuvo (Food and Agricultural Processing Engineering Department) have been appointed as coordinators and new editors of Alokvela's new executive council-2022-23. The project secretaries are Ahna Majumder (Economics Department) and Mehedi Hasan Milon (Food and Agricultural Processing Engineering Department). Naeem Iqbal (Department of Economics) and Pipasa Roy (Department of Political Science) have been appointed as the Finance Secretaries. Sonia Afrin Sathi (Department of Psychology) and Sheikh Tarek (Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology) are the members of the Executive Council.

In addition, a five-member Finance Management Council has been formed to ensure financial accounting, fund management and financial transparency. Mahfuza Sultana Ruma has been appointed as the cell director of the council and Tanjina Parveen Ankhi (tourism department), Shihab Hossain Abir (computer science and engineering department), Afridi Bhuiyan (computer science and engineering department) and Md. Imran Mia (English Department).

Welcoming the newly elected members, they expressed hope that they would go further with humanitarian activities.

Tanbir Alam Khan, coordinator of the first council and now a member of the constituency, said, "We have already carried out many medical campaigns individually and jointly with other organizations. We want to reach out to every village in Bangladesh with these great efforts."

The outgoing coordinator Faisal Ahmed Shant said, "It is hoped that the members of the newly formed council will carry out their duties properly in a democratic manner in accordance with the constitution."

Rukaiya Khatun Barna, coordinator of the new council, said to the volunteers, "We have only one oath, we want to go further with the humanitarian activities of Alokvela. We will not hesitate to do our best to achieve this goal."

Alokvela is a non-profit non-political voluntary social organization. The organization started its journey in 2019 with the aim of preventing any oppression and ensuring social justice. Volcanoes are currently working on medical rights. These include campaigns to raise funds for large-scale operations for the underprivileged, such as free blood collection, free mental health care, and the provision of medicines at nominal or non-profit rates.
