Century of raw chillies in Ramadan

News Desk: Raw chillies are spreading heat in Ramadan this time. On the seventh day of Ramadan, the price of raw chillies has crossed the century. In just one week, the price of raw chilli has gone up by Rs 20 to 30 per kg.

Everyday cooking does not go without raw peppers. Its use in fasting is more. As a result, the common man is in dire straits due to the rising price of raw chillies.

The chillies that are being sold in the caravan market at Rs 80-100 per kg are being sold at Rs 90 to Rs 120 in different markets in the area.

On Saturday (April 9) in the capital's Karwan Bazar, Rampura, Bau-Bazar, the difference in the price of raw chillies can be seen.

In this regard, Babu, a vegetable seller in Karwan Bazaar, said that usually two types of chillies are sold more in the market. One is called Desijat, the other is called Bindu Marich. In the caravan market, the price of local chilli is 400-450 rupees and that of Bindu pepper is 500 rupees. The supply seems to be the same as before. Even then the price is a little high.

On the other hand, Ujjwal, a vegetable seller in Madhubag, said, “If we buy pepper at Rs. 400 to Rs. Prices have risen in the space of a week. People in the market can't say why.

He said that Bindu variety pepper has to be sold at a price of more than 100 rupees. Today, the price of eggplant has gone up again.

On the other hand, the price of cucumber has been found to be relatively low in today's market. Cucumbers are being sold at 40-45 rupees per kg depending on the quality. On the other hand, tomatoes are being sold at 30-40 rupees.

In this regard, Zakir Hossain, buyer of Rampura Bazar, said that it is the responsibility of the employees to survive at present. Every day the prices of some products are increasing. The government or any government agency has no control. There is no end to the problems of the lower class like us from the middle.
