Tangail representative: Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member. Md. Abdur Razzak MP said, no one will die without eating during the tenure of Awami League. During the BNP rule, people did not eat and died.

The BNP's movement on commodity prices is not suitable for hunger strike, but they should be ashamed. We can say with evidence from newspapers and records that during their rule from 2001 to 2006, manga was made in the country every year. People in different areas including Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram are not eating every day, we have seen the pandu look of their bones. During the BNP alliance, people died of starvation in the month of Ashwin-Kartik. But on the other hand in the last 13 years till today not a single person has died without eating during the tenure of Awami League. There is no news that people have died without eating, inshallah it will never come again. No one will die without eating during Awami League.

The Agriculture Minister said this while addressing the triennial conference of Upazila Awami League at Dhanbari Government College ground in Tangail on Saturday morning.

The minister said the BNP alliance, the so-called civil society, was also trying to take advantage of the anti-independence forces by spreading rumors about food prices. In 1974, this evil force deliberately faked Basanti in Kurigram and spread propaganda of famine and tarnished the image of the country and Bangabandhu in the world. In the same way, this evil power including BNP is trying to spread rumors and propaganda about the price of goods. Trying to confuse the people by creating and propagating 'Basanti Plot' for power. But they will not get this opportunity, the people of the country will not be confused.

Although prices of some commodities have risen, there is no shortage of food in the country, he said, adding that prices of some commodities have risen recently due to the Corona-Ukraine-Russia war, but there is no food crisis. No situation has been created in the country with food for which there is a need for hunger strike, human chain or strike. The price of coarse rice has not increased in the last two months. Onion prices are down, farmers are now pushing for higher prices. Potato prices are low, farmers are pushing for higher prices. Ramadan is starting, eggplant prices are also stable. Even then, the present government has taken various steps to alleviate the suffering of the people, including providing daily necessities to 1 crore families at low cost. As a result, the food security situation has improved a lot.

Awami League presidium member Lt. Colonel (Retd) Muha. Faruk Khan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has become a food exporting country from Mongar country. But the sad thing is - when the people of the country move forward, when the people of the world acknowledge that Bangladesh is moving towards development, then inside the country, BNP-Jamaat miscreants spread rumors, lies and conspire to take Bangladesh backwards.

Special guests were Bangladesh Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam MP, Forest and Environment Secretary Delwar Hossain, Education and Human Resources Secretary Shamsun Nahar Champa, Member Reazul Kabir Kawshar, Tangail District Awami League President Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk as the inaugural speaker and General as the keynote speaker. Editor Zoharul Islam MP spoke. Dhanbari Upazila Awami League vice-president Haruna Rashid Hira presided over the function.
