Accused of raping schoolgirl in Chatmohar, hospitalized in critical condition

Pabna Correspondent: A young man named Rezaul Karim (25) has been accused of raping a schoolgirl in Chatmohar of Pabna more than once for having a love affair with her.

Not only that, the victim's family has claimed that the accused youth destroyed the schoolgirl when she was 5 months pregnant.

Rezaul and his family members beat the schoolgirl and kicked her out of the house when she went home to demand her latest marriage. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. The victim's mother has lodged a written complaint at the police station.

According to the written complaint, Rezaul Karim, son of Afzal Hossain, a resident of Bri-Guakhra Paschimpara village in Mathurapur union of the upazila, had a love affair with Chatmohar RCN and BSN high school student (18) of the same village three years ago. The family then alleged that the schoolgirl was raped more than once without the knowledge of everyone. At one stage, the schoolgirl became introverted. Later on July 14 last year, the schoolgirl and her mother claimed that Rezaul had deliberately ruined her five-month-old baby.

When the schoolgirl went to Rezaul's house last Sunday (January 18) to demand her latest marriage, she and her family members, including her parents, started beating her. He was admitted to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex with injuries.

The victim's mother said Rezaul had ruined her daughter's life. He wants a fair trial.

The schoolgirl, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital, said that Rezaul had a love affair with her. Promised to marry. But now he has beaten her up instead of marrying her. Now where will he go with this life.

Chatmohar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Anwar Hossain said the victim's mother had lodged a written complaint against five people. The whole incident will be investigated and further legal action will be taken.
Accused Rezaul was called several times on Tuesday (January 18) around 10 am and around 10 pm to talk about the matter but his statement could not be obtained as the phone was switched off.
