Since Wednesday, 25 percent of train tickets have been sold online and 25 percent at counters

News Desk: The government has decided to sell train tickets under the new rules from Wednesday (January 12). Under the new rules, 25 percent of tickets will be sold online and 25 percent at counters. This decision will be effective from January 15.

The government has decided to use public transport with half of the passengers in the seat to deal with the new type of coronavirus Omicron. This decision will be effective from January 13. In that case the train will carry half (50 percent) of the number of seats.

On Tuesday (January 11), Bangladesh Railway Deputy Director (TC) May. This information was given in a circular signed by Nahid Hasan Khan.

The matter was confirmed by Additional Director General (Operations) of Railways Sardar Shahadat Ali.

According to the notification, the government has issued a circular imposing restrictions on the overall activities / movement to prevent the spread of rabies-caused rabies (Covid-19). The notification has directed to carry half passengers in trains, buses and launches.

In the case of passenger trains, the following amendments have been made in the sale of intercity train tickets by ensuring physical distance and wearing of masks in the interest of health safety of railway officials and passengers.

A. Selling half of the existing seats on intercity trains to ensure social and physical distance of passengers;
B. Half of the seats (i.e. 25 per cent of the mat seats) will be sold through the ticket counter and the remaining half of the seats (i.e. 25 per cent of the mat seats) will be sold through the mobile app / online;
C. The issue of standing tickets for intercity trains and station platform tickets will be completely closed;
D. Earlier, the existing quotas for sale of intercity train tickets except pass quotas as per the emergency quotas and intercity train manuals approved by the Ministry of Railways have been abolished;
E. The passenger must wear a mask when traveling to the counter for tickets and train travel;
F. Provide catering services on intercity trains and provide night bedding on trains with strict adherence to conventional rules and hygiene rules;

These amendments will be effective from January 15 (considering the date of departure). In this case, the rules issued from time to time on ticket issue and hygiene will remain unchanged.
