Sports Desk: Young right-arm opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy did not bat well in the first innings. But due to hand injury, he will not be able to use the bat in this tour.

According to the Bangladesh team management, Joy has three stitches in his right hand. That is why he will be kept under observation for at least 8 to 10 days.

Which means the 21-year-old opener will not play in the second Test starting on January 9 (Sunday). For good reason, Bangladesh will not win in the second innings on the last day of the match on Wednesday.

In a video message provided by the BCB, the team's physio Bayezid Islam said this after the fourth day's play today (Tuesday).

"Mahmudul Hasan Joy suffered a right hand injury while fielding today," he said. There are three stitches between the third and fourth fingers of the hand. The doctor here did the sewing. He will have to be monitored for 8 to 10 days now. Besides, all necessary measures have been taken.

Mahmudul Joy played 226 balls in the first innings of the match and gave a great innings of 7 runs. Bangladesh will definitely miss his service in the second innings or the second Test.
