News Desk: Three more people have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours across the country. All three of the dead were women. Among them are two from Dhaka division and one from Rajshahi division. The death toll from the deadly virus rose to 26,090.

At the same time, 692 people have been identified as newly infected in the country. With this, the number of identities in the country has increased to 15 lakh 6 thousand 606 people. The detection rate in 24 hours is 4.20 percent.

The information was given in a press release issued by the Department of Health on Wednesday (January 5).

Earlier on Tuesday (January 4), the Department of Health said three people had died in 24 hours and 65 had been identified as corona. At the same time, the detection rate was 3.91 percent as opposed to the sample test. As a result, even though the death rate has decreased in 24 hours, the identification has increased.

According to the Department of Health, 21,302 samples were collected and 21,251 samples were tested in public and private laboratories across the country in 24 hours. In contrast to the test, the detection rate is 4.20 percent.

Meanwhile, 212 people have recovered from coronavirus in one day. With this, a total of 15 lakh 50 thousand 17 people have recovered so far.

On March 7, 2020, the first coronavirus patient was identified in the country. One person died of the virus on March 17 of that year.
