At least three people have been killed and eight others injured in a shooting at a school in the United States

International Desk: Three other students have been killed in a shooting at a secondary school in the US state of Michigan. 6 more people were injured in this incident. Among the injured is a teacher. This was reported in a report on Wednesday (December 1) by Reuters and the BBC and Al Jazeera.

U.S. officials say three of the dead were students at the school. One of them is a 16 year old teenager. The other two female students killed were 14 and 18 years old respectively. The shootings took place on Tuesday (November 30) afternoon local time.

U.S. police say the teenager, aged 15, is responsible for the gun attack alone. According to their information, the teenager, who was accused of carrying a semi-automatic handgun, attacked the school in Michigan state and fired 15 to 20 shots at that time. The motive for the attack was not immediately clear.

According to the BBC, the school where the attack took place is located in Oxford, Michigan. Oxford is located about 40 kilometers (75 miles) north of Detroit, the largest city in the northwestern United States.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the gun attack, the report said. Within five minutes, the accused assailant surrendered. Officials say the attacker was a second-year student at the same school.

However, the police did not have to open fire when the accused student was detained. As a result, the police arrested the accused without any injuries.
