News Desk: In the last 24 hours, 108 more dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in the country. However, no one died of dengue at this time.

This information was given in the regular dengue report of the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Wednesday (November 24) afternoon.

According to the report, most of the hospitalized people are residents of the capital. Of these, 6 have been admitted to various government and private hospitals in the capital and 21 to various hospitals outside Dhaka.

At present, the total number of dengue patients admitted in different government and private hospitals of the country stands at 479. There are 359 people admitted in 47 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and 120 people are admitted in different hospitals of other departments.

According to the report, a total of 26,841 patients were admitted to the hospital from January 1 to November 24 this year. Of them, 26,174 have recovered and left the hospital. Dengue has killed 98 people at this time.

Earlier in 2019, the dengue outbreak took a deadly shape. That year, more than a million people were hospitalized with dengue. 147 people died. The second highest death toll from dengue was in 2002, with 57 deaths reported by the Department of Health. In addition, 44 people died in 2001. Although dengue caused a terrible situation in 2019, dengue did not have much impact in 2020 due to the Corona epidemic. However, this time dengue patients are increasing at an alarming rate.
