Housewife hacked to death in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: A housewife in Pabna has been accused of hacking her husband to death. His limbs were severed from his body after the murder. The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday (November 18) at Folia village in Maligachha union of Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Hamida Khatun, 32. She is the wife of Tejem Mollah of that village. He has a son and a daughter. Hamidul Islam, brother of the deceased, said that Tejem Mollah got involved in foreign affairs. The wife protested. From time to time there were frequent quarrels in their family. Tejem Mollah often beat his wife. Due to this, Hamida Khatun was hacked to death by her husband on Tuesday morning. After the murder, one of his arms and two legs were severed from his body. He later called and told my sister about the murder and fled. We went home and found out about the incident and reported it to the police.

Pabna Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Aminul Islam said the body was recovered from the spot and sent to Pabna General Hospital Morgue for autopsy. The whole matter is being investigated.
