Manikganj Correspondent: Farmers are suffering due to lack of TSP fertilizer in Shibala. Dealers are not able to supply TSP fertilizer as per the demand of farmers at the beginning of Rabi season. As a result, the local farmers are in trouble while planting mustard, onion and rabi crops. At present, sowing of mustard, onion and paddy seeds has started in this upazila. Farmers in the area are now busy preparing and sowing seedbeds.

Demand for Urea, TSP and Potash (MOP) fertilizers is high among other fertilizers in Rabi cultivation. Despite the availability of urea and potash fertilizers, the allocation of TSP fertilizers is low and the dealers are not getting timely supply from the importers. As a result, sowing of mustard seeds in the land is being delayed. The farmers are worried about this. If this situation continues, they are fearing that the production of mustard will be affected this time. To deal with this situation, the victims are drawing the attention of the concerned department including agricultural extension. It is learned that the government has taken various steps to ensure fair distribution of fertilizers and make it easier for farmers to purchase fertilizers. Multiple monitoring teams from high level to local level are working to monitor the fertilizer.

Besides, there are 6 BCIC (importer) and 10 BADC dealers in seven unions of Shibalaya upazila. Besides, there are 54 sub-dealers in 54 wards of seven unions. Every year the farmers get fertilizer very easily through them. The fertilizer allotted to these dealers in October has been sold long ago. Dealers are not getting the TSP fertilizer allotted to the importers in November. Dealers said that there is a problem in not giving TSP fertilizer as per the demand of the farmers. According to Shibalaya Upazila Agriculture Office, this time the amount of fertilizer increased in the month of November in the whole upazila is TSP 229, potash (MOP) 208.15.
DOP 548.1 and urea 915 metric tons.

During the Rabi season this year, the target has been set to cultivate 5,180 hectares of mustard, 2,505 hectares of onions and 8,445 hectares of land in Shibala. Jamaduara area farmers said. Roop Chan said that he did not get the fertilizer even after visiting the local dealer for three / four days. Eventually he was forced to buy fertilizer from other areas at a higher price. The fertilizer trader charged him Rs 1,450 per 50 kg bag of TSP with an official price of Rs 1,150, potash at Rs 850 for Rs 950 and urea at Rs 800 for Rs 900. The government writes the price in the recipe. If you ask about the price
He said, there is no fertilizer, the price is less or more.

Farmer Atab Ali said, "I have been visiting the dealer for six / seven days for fertilizer." Dealers are circulating like this today or tomorrow without fertilizer. TSP, Potash
I can't grow mustard due to lack of fertilizer. I have been working in agriculture since the time of my grandfather. I plant 10 bighas of mustard every year. This time the water of my land has dried up long ago. But I can't cultivate the land because I can't get fertilizer.

Shibalaya farmer said. Rahij Uddin said, if you pay more, you can get fertilizer. Many days I have collected some fertilizers at higher prices. I bought TSP 1500 potash 1200 and urea 850 rupees per bag. With this I have planted mustard in two and a half bighas of my four bighas of land. TSP, I am not able to cultivate the rest of the land due to lack of potash fertilizer.

Mamun Mia Bachchu, a farmer in Uthli area, said, “I cultivate mustard on 24/25 bighas of land every year. This time I have planted mustard in only three bighas of land. Due to lack of TSP and potash fertilizer, I am not able to cultivate mustard in the rest of the land. I went to Nayabari, Jafarganj, Baradia Bazar for fertilizer and finally came to Aricha without getting fertilizer. Here too I see TSP, no potash. I've been looking for fertilizer for a week.

I request you to provide TSP, Potash Fertilizer on urgent basis. Some fertilizer dealers, speaking on condition of anonymity, said they had also sent money to importers by submitting DOs for TSP and potash fertilizers allotted in November a week ago. But the dealers cannot say why the importers are delaying in sending the fertilizer. Meanwhile, the farmers are struggling to cope with the pressure.

Shibalaya Upazila Agriculture Officer in this regard. Riazur Rahman said, there is no shortage of fertilizer this year, there is enough fertilizer. Due to rapid depletion of water in the area, mustard cultivation has started in advance. At the same time, the demand for fertilizer has increased. That's why there's a little problem. A little time to get the November allotment due to transportation problems
Looks like. Dealers have already submitted DOs and remittances have also been sent to importers. I hope the fertilizer will reach in a day or two. However, there is sufficient amount of urea and DAP fertilizer. The government has suggested using DAP fertilizer instead of TSP and potash.

In addition, we are constantly monitoring the market. If any trader sells fertilizer at exorbitant prices from farmers and receives specific complaints, legal action must be taken against him.
