News Desk: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the second phase of Union Parishad (UP) election was held in a spontaneous and festive atmosphere in the presence of 75 to 80 percent voters. However, some casualties have been reported in different places and many others have been injured. This is very sad.

Everyone needs to be more vigilant to maintain the festive spirit surrounding the grassroots level elections across the country. Obaidul Quader made the remarks at a briefing at his residence on Friday (November 12). Obaidul Quader called upon all to be vigilant so as not to create such an undesirable situation in the next phase of elections and urged the Election Commission and law enforcement agencies to take utmost precautionary measures to maintain a conducive environment for the elections. The general secretary of the Awami League said that irresponsible statement of any responsible person, be it in politics or administration is not appropriate. Obaidul Quader said that some responsible political leaders and government officials have been making irresponsible and irrational statements on various issues of the country. Doing, which is not at all polite. "Politicians and government officials all have a definite boundary, they have a code of conduct, it is very important for everyone to abide by this boundary," he said.

The General Secretary of the Awami League called upon all to consider their own circumstances and adhere to the boundaries in making statements or comments on the issue. "Some of us are over-enthusiastic and extra words or statements can send the wrong message to the people, which is not good for the country at all," he said. Commenting that blindly criticizing the Sheikh Hasina government has become the daily political responsibility of the BNP, the General Secretary of the Awami League said that although they could not do anything for the people and the country, they were skillfully carrying out the work of lies and propaganda. He said that in the final judgment, these propaganda will go against the BNP, which they do not understand yet. The sooner the BNP realizes these facts, the better for them. The BNP general secretary is playing the old broken record and says that the judiciary has been partisan or the election system has been destroyed. Obaidul Quader's comments are only the fat-chewing of these fictitious allegations of the BNP.

Stating that the judiciary of the country is working independently, the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said that it is their old habit to accuse the judiciary of being independent and against it if the verdict is in favor of the BNP. He said the BNP's policy is to accept justice but the palm tree is mine. Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, said that if the BNP had won the election, it could have won more votes, and if it had lost, the election commission would not have been neutral.
