News Desk: Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has filed a case against 337 buses in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolis for overcharging. This information was given in a press release of the company on Thursday (November 11).
It said 10 BRTA executive magistrates had conducted day-to-day raids against 336 buses and minibuses in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolitan areas on charges of overcharging and other charges. A case has been filed against 27 diesel and 49 CNG-powered buses and minibuses and a fine of Tk 356,000 has been levied. It is further said that the Secretary of the Department of Road Transport and Highways.
Nazrul Islam, BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder and Director (Enforcement) said. Sarwar Alam visited mobile court operations in different areas of Dhaka metropolis and spoke to the passengers. A delegation of bus and minibus owners and workers' organizations was also present at the time.
