News Desk: Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Information and Communication Technology Adviser to the Prime Minister, described the various initiatives of Digital Bangladesh and said that Bangladesh will be the next hub for exports in the IT sector. He made the remarks while participating in the 25th World Congress on Information Technology, WCIT 2021 and Associate Digital Summit 2021, a virtual event, on Thursday (November 11).

It is being held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital for four days. Joy said one of our goals was to build a digital Bangladesh. Build a sustainable, reliable, trustworthy digital society. We wanted the benefits of digital to reach everyone from the village to the city. It will not be limited to the urban middle class. We wanted it to be easy for people to access digital. This digital must be trusted so that ordinary people can accept it very easily. He added that it must be sustainable. Because our vision was to think about the future. Thinking about the next 40 years. It wasn't just a thought for 5 or 10 years. We did not want any technology that would lose its usefulness in a few days. He said, "After the Awami League government came to power in December 2008, we announced a very Twenty Twenty One." At this time Bangladesh will celebrate 50 years of birth.

We are very happy that in this time Bangladesh has reached the middle income country as per the standards of United Nations and World Bank. Our per capita income is higher than that of neighboring India. "Then we started Vision 2041," he said. During this period Bangladesh will not only be a developing country but our per capita income will be like that of a developed nation. "My plan was to set up a Kori cyber cafe in every part of the country according to walking distance," he said. So that people do not have to go to the city to work. I was able to do that. Now, if one goes to a digital center, one can get any kind of service with a simple fee. We have created the largest portal in the world where you can find links to all government offices in Bangladesh.

All kinds of services are available. Sajeeb Wazed said, "When I show the American smartphone designed and made in Bangladesh to my American friends, they can't believe it." Freelancers of our country are moving forward at a fast pace, he said, adding that many startups have been created in Bangladesh today.
