News Desk: A python 20 feet long and weighing 40 kg has been recovered at Sharankhola in Bagerhat. Members of the wild team rescued the snake from the side of Jamal Gazi's house in Khuriakhali village at midnight on Thursday (October 21). Later on Friday (October 22) morning, the python was released into the Sundarbans. In the last one year, more than a hundred pythons have been rescued from the locality and released into the Sundarbans, the forest department said.

Joynal Munshi and Sagar Hossain of Khuriakhali village said they had not seen such a large python in the last 20 years. Alam Hawlader, Sharankhola Upazila Coordinator of the Wild Team, said pythons, which often migrate locally from the Sundarbans, do not cause much harm to humans. Upon receiving the news, with the help of the locals, I am rescuing the pythons unharmed and returning them to the Sundarbans. Sharankhola station officer said. Abdul Mannan said that the python crossed the river Bhola at midnight on Thursday and took position near Jamal Gazi's house. On hearing the sound, the people of the house came out and were terrified to see the dragon. They informed the members of the Sundarbans Protection Committee Wild Team and Tiger Team. The python was rescued at night with the help of the forest department.

The python was released into the forest adjacent to the Sharankhola Range Office on Friday morning. He further said that as the Bhola river adjacent to the Sundarbans locality fills up and the forest and locality merge, pythons often come to the locality in search of food. In the last one year, more than a hundred pythons have been rescued from the locality and released into the forest, said the forest official.
