News Desk: RAB has arrested eight snatchers in Jatrabari and Chawkbazar areas of the capital. There are allegations that they used to snatch money and mobile phones from pedestrians for fear of sharp knives.

The arrested are Shah Alam, Pavel, Farhan, Yasin, Habibul, Sourav Mia, Shakil and Jihadul Islam Akash. On Friday (October 22) afternoon, RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Enayet Kabir Shoaib confirmed the information. He said an expedition team of RAB-10 conducted separate raids in Sayedabad area under Jatrabari police station and arrested five snatchers. Five knives and five mobile phone sets used in the robbery were seized from them. In another operation, three snatchers were arrested in the area of ​​Hossaini Dalan Road under Chawkbazar Model Police Station.

Referring to the preliminary interrogation of the arrested persons, the RAB-10 official said that the arrested persons had been looting money and mobile phones for some time in various areas including Jatrabari and Chawkbazar for fear of sharp knives of pedestrians. Regular cases have been filed against them in the concerned police station.
