News Desk: The second working day of the week, Monday (October 18), the country's stock market crashed. The main stock market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the other stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) all price indices have fallen sharply. At the same time, the share and unit prices of most of the companies have come down. The volume of transactions has also decreased.

On this day, trading on the DSE started with the price increase of almost all the companies. As a result, DSEX, the main price index of DSE, increased by 15 points. However, the market picture changes in less than five minutes during the transaction.
Shares and units of one company after another started falling after taking part in the transaction. As a result, the main price index of DSE fell by 48 points in 20 minutes. After that, even though the index increased a little, the index continued to go down after 11:30 pm. As a result, at one stage the main index of DSE fell to 130 points.

However, the share price of some companies rises towards the end of the transaction. This reduces the rate of decline of the index. Even then, the stock market could not survive the collapse.

At the end of the day, the DSE's main index DSEX fell 69 points to 6,098 points. Along with the main price index, the other two indices of DSE have declined. Of these, DSE Shariah decreased by 21 points and stood at 1,525 points. The DSE-30 index, which is made up of well-selected companies, is down 26 points at 2,008.

Shares and unit prices of only 33 companies traded on the DSE. In contrast, the price of 324 has decreased. And the price of 16 remains unchanged.

1,393.63 crore was traded in the market. The previous day's transaction was 1 thousand 855 crore 36 lakh rupees. As a result, the transaction has decreased by Tk 261.54 crore.
Orion Pharma shares have been the most traded on the DSE in terms of money. Shares of the company worth Tk 696 million were traded. Delta Life Insurance, which is in the second place, had a turnover of Tk 61.13 crore. Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh is in the third place with a turnover of Tk 8 crore 72 lakh.

Also on the DSE are the top 10 companies in terms of transactions - British American Tobacco, Fortune Suz, Beximco, IFIC Bank, NRBC Bank, Genex Infocus and Power Grid.

On the other hand, the overall price index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI decreased by 314 points. The market turnover was Tk 64.55 crore. Of the 308 companies that took part in the transaction, 35 rose. On the other hand, the price of 256 has come down. And the price of 15 remains unchanged.
