110 luxury cars including BMW-Mercedes at auction

News Desk: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to auction 110 luxury cars under the Carnet de Passage facility. Last Tuesday, Chittagong Custom House Joint-Commissioner. This information was given in a notification signed by Tofail Ahmed.

The Public Relations Department of the Board of Revenue said this on Saturday (October 18). These cars will be sold at auction on November 3 and 4. Detailed information regarding the auction can be found on the websites of NBR and Chittagong Port.

According to the NBR, if anyone wants to buy a car from the auction, he has to submit a tender. Tender application should be submitted in envelope in the tender box kept at the customs office in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Mongla. If any interested person wants to see the car, he has to apply to the concerned department along with the national identity card or passport photo and get the pass in advance. Must apply three days before car inspection. The car inspection is scheduled for October 26, 27 and October 31 to November 2.

According to the Board of Revenue, this time the buyers will be able to take part in the online auction for training. Therefore, this training will be held on October 16 in person or on the online platform. Details of the auctioned products will be uploaded on the websites of NBR and Chittagong Custom House in a day or two. These cars are being auctioned for the fifth time. Not a single car was sold in the previous four auctions.

According to Chittagong port sources, these vehicles were brought by British tourists of Bangladeshi origin a decade ago for the convenience of tourists. As a result of misuse of duty free facility, the vehicles got stuck after being brought through Chittagong port. After conditioning the release with a bank guarantee, the tourists left without taking the release.

It is known that the most expensive of the cars auctioned is the Land Rover made in the United Kingdom. There are seven such vehicles. Half of the 110 vehicles are of Mercedes Benz and BMW brands. The wheels and batteries of many of these vehicles have been damaged due to long fall. Other cars include Land Cruiser, Land Rover, Jaguar, Lexus and Mitsubishi.
