Shakib Al Hasan to join national team after IPL final

CNI Desk: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will join the national team in Muskat, Oman on Saturday after completing his Indian Premier League stint with Kolkata Knight Riders, a BCB official confirmed on Thursday.

“Shakib will join the team after the IPL final,” Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin told The Daily Sun.

 

Shakib’s team Kolkata earlier qualified for the final by beating Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier in Sharjah on Wednesday.

 

Kolkata, which previously won the IPL title twice with Shakib being part of both the winning teams in 2012 and 2014 respectively, will now face three-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the final today.

Bangladesh, meanwhile, will begin their World Cup campaign against Scotland at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muskat, Oman on Sunday.
