5 percent of the grant from indigent artists will be reserved for the disabled

News Desk: State Minister for Culture KM Khalid has said that 5 per cent of the grants given to indigent artists from the welfare grant sector of the Ministry of Culture will be reserved for the disabled.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the 'Closing of Disability Drama Workshop' jointly organized by Dhaka Theater and British Council at the Sarina Hotel in Banani on Friday (October 1) and in collaboration with 'Sundaram'. He said, ‘I am really impressed and overwhelmed to see the performance in this workshop organized with the participation of disabled artists. It shows that people with disabilities are really talented and creative. ' The state minister for culture said, "The present government has taken various landmark steps for the welfare and proper development of persons with disabilities." The Prime Minister's daughter Saima Wazed Putul is leading Bangladesh in the world and playing the role of a role model. He said the Ministry of Culture was interested in participating in the program if Dhaka Theater and the British Council wanted it.

Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu, President of Dhaka Theater and Nahin Idris, Head of Arts of British Council Dhaka addressed the function. Also present was Samiun Jahan Dola, the chief facilitator of the workshop.
