News Desk: ‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has established Chhatra League. Begum Mujib used to take care of Chhatra League when she went to jail to fight for human rights.

The speakers said this while participating in a virtual discussion program titled 'Chhatra League of Glory and Pride - Past, Present in the Golden Chat' on Sunday at 8:30 pm in Sydney and 4:30 pm in Bangladesh. The meeting is organized by the monthly Muktamancha. Conducted by Noman Shamim, Editor-in-Chief of Monthly Muttmancha. Many stories of Bangladesh Chhatra League's struggling golden period and much unknown information came up in the discussion meeting.

Advocate Balram Poddar, former vice-president of Bangladesh Chhatra League, said that Barisal has always been a hotbed of movement and struggle. I used to do Chhatra League from school life, was the general secretary of the school committee. There was a sincerity among our leaders then. They regularly sought out staff. If the workers who took part in the regular meetings and processions were suddenly absent, the leaders would inquire. We have found sincerity among the leaders even after university admission. But now many infiltrators have joined the Awami League, they are tarnishing the reputation of Chhatra League.

He said Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina has risen to the top of the world with pride. Today, Bangladesh has gained political and economic praise all over the world under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Chhatra League has also contributed behind this. At present, Chhatra League has also played an admirable role in tackling the Corona epidemic. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established Chhatra League. Begum Mujib used to take care of Chhatra League when he went to jail.

Former vice-president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Prince Mohiuddin said- Dr. Mr. Kamal Hossain was still a guru of drama, still a guru of drama, an agent of CAEA. There is no history of boycotting elections from Bangabandhu to Sheikh Hasina. It was Ershad who defeated the Awami League in the election through a media coup. At that time the hostels of Dhaka Medical were our last refuge. Chhatra Samaj was occupied by Chhatra League. From there we would call home for 1/2 minute. At that time Shafiq Bhai was the leader of Chhatra League. Under their leadership we have done politics, movement, struggle. Selim, Delwar, Raoshon Basunia who have been killed, all those who have been martyred in the anti-Ershad movement, all belong to Chhatra League. No one can say that any student has been killed or injured. All the killed leaders and activists belong to Chhatra League. Because, by doing what Chhatra League says, by living on the streets, they prove that they are the bearers of tradition, they are not dishonest. They do not flee the highway.

He said that Chhatra League and Chhatra Samaj used to oppress Chhatra League. From its inception till the Corona crisis, Chhatra League has maintained its tradition of human service.
Former president of Dhaka South Chhatra League Md. Shafiqul Alam said- I have been directly involved with Chhatra League since those 69 years. Then I came to Dhaka around 1971. And during the mass uprising of the nineties, Chhatra League was in the main role. I witnessed many incidents at that time as I was directly involved in the movement and struggle.

Former general secretary of Dhaka Medical College BCL and former member of the central committee of Bangladesh BCL Professor. Abul Hasnat Milton said that after '75, BNP and Jatiya Party were the opposite of currency in Bangladesh. You call Ershad a dictator and worship Ziaur Rahman - it will not happen. The first blow was inflicted on Chhatra League soon after Sheikh Hasina returned home. Chhatra League was divided. Because Sheikh Hasina can be weakened only if Chhatra League can be weakened. And if Sheikh Hasina could be weakened, the spirit of the liberation war would be weakened, Bangabandhu said - everything would be weakened.

Engi Hasnat Mia, former general secretary of Motijheel Thana Chhatra League and former Mahanagar Chhatra League and Consul General of Germany, said that there are very few student organizations in the world which have played various roles from the time of language movement till independence. After the leader came to the country after '75, he organized Chhatra League before strengthening his hand. He has formed this student organization for whatever needs to be done to get justice for Bangabandhu's murder.

He said- Naxals, Jamaat, Jasad, BNP often attacked our Motijheel office. Night after night I was homeless, unable to go to class. We did not leave the country for fun. We have been forced to. We are abroad to save lives. That's why you need to know the exact history.

Hasnat Mia said the Awami League has repeatedly won because it is led by Sheikh Hasina and has a strong Bangladesh Chhatra League. Due to this glorious organization, today's Bangladesh Awami League is repeatedly in state power. Because Sheikh Hasina relied on the BCL, she is in power today with the BCL presenting her dignity in a strong way.

Former President of Dhaka Medical College Chhatra League and former VP of Damexu Dr. Farhad Ali Khan, Chhatra League was the main role in the mass movement of the 90's. At that time, after Jihad was killed on October 10, the leaders and activists of Chhatra League of Dhaka Medical College hid his body so that Ershad's forces or police could not take him away.
