Dhaka College Teachers Council election on 13 September

News Desk: Dhaka College Teachers Council Election-2021 will be held on September 13. Voting will take place on the college campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A total of 14 candidates are contesting against 6 posts in this election. Three candidates will contest for the post of general secretary. They are the Chairman of the Department of Economics, Professor Parveen Sultana Haider, Associate Professor of History.

Md. Abdul Quddus Sikder and Associate Professor of Bangla. Alamgir Mia. Joint General Secretary will fight for the post of Associate Professor of Physics. Shaheen Uddin and Assistant Professor of Accounting Mohammad Nasir Uddin. Assistant Professor of Physics is fighting for the post of treasurer. Obaidul Karim and Mohammad Rahmatullah, Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. Assistant Professor Farhana Afroza and Lecturer of English Department Adnan Hossain will contest for the post of Service and Publication Secretary.

Sraboni Dhar, a lecturer in the Department of Management and Lecturer in the Department of Economics will fight for the post of Sports and Entertainment Secretary. Mahmudul Hasan. The executive member will compete for two positions against three rivals. They are- Assistant Professor of Chemistry Nakul Chandra Pal, Lecturer of the same department Aslam Hossain and Lecturer of the Department of History and Culture of Islam. Farooq Ahmed 6 Candidates for various posts in the college have already started their election campaign around the upcoming elections. According to the constitution, the candidates will be able to campaign till midnight on September 11. The 7 representatives elected by the teachers working in Dhaka College will be in charge for the next two years. The Principal of Dhaka College will be the ex-officio President and the Vice-Principal will be the Vice-President. This committee of nine members of the teachers' council works on various issues related to the interests of teachers. A four-member election commission has been formed to conduct the election smoothly. Professor Puranjay Biswas, Chairman of the English Department, is acting as the Chief Election Commissioner.

The other three election commissioners are- Associate Professor of Accounting. Shawkat Ali, Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Rezwanul Warid and Pallavi Dey, Lecturer, Department of Economics. Election Commissioner Pallabi Dey said, "We have all kinds of preparations to complete the election smoothly." Votes will be taken in compliance with strict hygiene rules. So far, a fair and beautiful election environment is prevailing.
