International Desk: Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has indicated he will step down before his term expires. He is no longer running for re-election on behalf of the party. News from the BBC.

Yoshihide Suga, 61, became prime minister a year ago after former prime minister Shinzo Abe resigned over health reasons.

The sudden announcement came when it was heard that Suga could not show skill in running the country.

Corona has also created an economic crisis in Japan. Besides, Suga came under the cannon fire of the people by organizing the Olympics in Corona.

At a meeting of the party's executive council, Yoshihide Suga said his best effort was to stop the Corona epidemic and not run for office again. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) secretary general later confirmed the information to AFP.

It is learned that the LDP has set September 29 as the deadline for the election of the party president.
