Hili Correspondent: Import-export trade between India and Bangladesh has resumed through Hili land port after a one-day public holiday on the occasion of Janmashtami, a religious festival of the Hindu community. The import-export activities started at 10:30 am on Tuesday (August 31) when a truck carrying goods from India entered Healy port.
Confirming the matter, Sohrab Hossain Pratab Mallick, public relations officer of Healy Panama Port Link Limited, said that the import-export between the two countries was suspended from Monday morning as per the decision of traders as there is a public holiday in the two countries on the occasion of Janmashtami, a religious festival of the Hindu community. However, as the public holiday is over, the import-export activities have resumed as usual from Tuesday morning. At the same time, all the activities including loading and unloading of goods from Indian trucks have started inside the port.
